Mini Moon

These past two days have been absolutely amazing and I just had to blog about them. Back in the summer at my bridal shower my bridesmaids presented me with an absolutely amazing present. Since they knew Jay and my schedule was so crazy that we would be putting our official honeymoon on hold they gave us the gift of a mini moon! Seriously how cool is that!!! It goes to show why you pick the ones closest to you to be a part of the wedding, because they truly know how to bring a wedding together and how to bring peace to the couple! Jay and I were finally able to use our weekend get-a-way and man o man!!! I was in heaven. The mini moon took place at the Old Saybrook Inn and Spa, and if you have never been there I would totally recommend it!
.
.

The entire experience was completely luxurious and I have never felt more taken care or then I did there. From the time you walked in we were greeted and had our bags taken up to the room which in and of it self was simply amazing. We had a balcony that overlooked the water, our room was complete with a king size bed, a jacuzzi tub, and a fire place!

Seriously how comfy does this bed look!!!
.
.
And check out this all marble bathroom!
So after we were brought to our room we were quickly escorted to the spa for our Swedish aroma therapy couples massage! And YES it was as luxurious as it sounds. From the time we entered the relaxation room with our fabulous robes and comfy spa sandals it was all about living in luxury! But of course after our 80 minute massage we retreated to our room to change and relax before heading to dinner. After dinner when we were back at room for the night they came up stairs to light the fire in the fireplace and really set the scene for a romantic night! The next day we enjoyed a fabulous breakfast at the Terra Mar 4 diamond restaurant. Which was followed by a cranberry body scrub at the Spa and then an afternoon of perusing Old Saybrook!

As we began exploring I decided to be silly and take a self portrait!

My totally cute hubby gazing out onto the sea!
.

So right outside our Inn was some cool little historical spots. There was this one particular memorial that had pieces of train tracks and I don't know why but when I saw it I thought it would make a cool ring shot!!!
.
.
The pier that was right out side our room
.
.
So a little bit down the road room the inn was a beautiful beach with some fabulous details and so as I was exploring I saw this path to nowhere and just started snapping away!

Stay tuned for Jay's shots from this weekend!! I still find it amazing how different our views are, the environment is the same but how we both see it and then capture it, never seizes to amaze me!! And once again because I can not say it enough thank you to all my bridesmaids who made this mini moon possible, it truly was a fabulous gift!!! :0)

On the road again!!!

This past weekend was super busy and super fun and I am looking forward to editing and posting a bunch of the photos. But, I figured I would start out with some of my favorites. Jay is all about taking pictures whenever, and where ever and recently he has been working on perfecting the shot in camera. So here are a few from our drive down I-95 south. And I totally want to give Jay props all these shots haven't been retouched!!!

Okay, so lets back up a few steps and just set the stage a bit so you know what your dealing with!

Veterans Day 2009

Happy Veterans Day !!!!

So as I am sure most of you know, I honor my Father and Grandfather who both served in the United States Navy during war time. My Grandfather served in WWII and my Father in Vietnam. They are True Hero's that put their lives on the line so we can maintain our freedom.
Thank You and God Bless You!!!

Also for the rest of the veterans past and present your sacrifices are what keep us Proud to be American. Thank You and come home safe!!

On Veterans day this year I went down to Bridgeport with my father for the Veterans day ceremony, My grandfather has a brick at the memorial as well.

This is my Grandfathers brick :)

Here is the Mayor of Bridgeport with the Atty General

This is one of my Favorite shots from the day, I think it tells more than a story!

When I first got there I spotted the Priest that married Maggie and I :)

Here is my father! All the people who served were asked to raise there hands and be known.

This woman is just beautiful, The look of honor just gleams off of her

I will end on this photo, a persons hands can tell a story all on their own.
Again, I want to wish all past, present, and future veterans a very Happy Veteran's Day! And for those over seas including Maggie's cousin Karin and Uncle Tom I wish them a safe trip and swift and safe return home!
