Mini Moon

These past two days have been absolutely amazing and I just had to blog about them. Back in the summer at my bridal shower my bridesmaids presented me with an absolutely amazing present. Since they knew Jay and my schedule was so crazy that we would be putting our official honeymoon on hold they gave us the gift of a mini moon! Seriously how cool is that!!! It goes to show why you pick the ones closest to you to be a part of the wedding, because they truly know how to bring a wedding together and how to bring peace to the couple! Jay and I were finally able to use our weekend get-a-way and man o man!!! I was in heaven. The mini moon took place at the Old Saybrook Inn and Spa, and if you have never been there I would totally recommend it!
.
.

The entire experience was completely luxurious and I have never felt more taken care or then I did there. From the time you walked in we were greeted and had our bags taken up to the room which in and of it self was simply amazing. We had a balcony that overlooked the water, our room was complete with a king size bed, a jacuzzi tub, and a fire place!

Seriously how comfy does this bed look!!!
.
.
And check out this all marble bathroom!
So after we were brought to our room we were quickly escorted to the spa for our Swedish aroma therapy couples massage! And YES it was as luxurious as it sounds. From the time we entered the relaxation room with our fabulous robes and comfy spa sandals it was all about living in luxury! But of course after our 80 minute massage we retreated to our room to change and relax before heading to dinner. After dinner when we were back at room for the night they came up stairs to light the fire in the fireplace and really set the scene for a romantic night! The next day we enjoyed a fabulous breakfast at the Terra Mar 4 diamond restaurant. Which was followed by a cranberry body scrub at the Spa and then an afternoon of perusing Old Saybrook!

As we began exploring I decided to be silly and take a self portrait!
.
.
My totally cute hubby gazing out onto the sea!
.
.
So right outside our Inn was some cool little historical spots. There was this one particular memorial that had pieces of train tracks and I don't know why but when I saw it I thought it would make a cool ring shot!!!
.
.
The pier that was right out side our room
.
.
So a little bit down the road room the inn was a beautiful beach with some fabulous details and so as I was exploring I saw this path to nowhere and just started snapping away!

Stay tuned for Jay's shots from this weekend!! I still find it amazing how different our views are, the environment is the same but how we both see it and then capture it, never seizes to amaze me!! And once again because I can not say it enough thank you to all my bridesmaids who made this mini moon possible, it truly was a fabulous gift!!! :0)

Veterans Day 2009

Happy Veterans Day !!!!

So as I am sure most of you know, I honor my Father and Grandfather who both served in the United States Navy during war time. My Grandfather served in WWII and my Father in Vietnam. They are True Hero's that put their lives on the line so we can maintain our freedom.
Thank You and God Bless You!!!

Also for the rest of the veterans past and present your sacrifices are what keep us Proud to be American. Thank You and come home safe!!

On Veterans day this year I went down to Bridgeport with my father for the Veterans day ceremony, My grandfather has a brick at the memorial as well.

This is my Grandfathers brick :)

Here is the Mayor of Bridgeport with the Atty General

This is one of my Favorite shots from the day, I think it tells more than a story!

When I first got there I spotted the Priest that married Maggie and I :)

Here is my father! All the people who served were asked to raise there hands and be known.

This woman is just beautiful, The look of honor just gleams off of her

I will end on this photo, a persons hands can tell a story all on their own.
Again, I want to wish all past, present, and future veterans a very Happy Veteran's Day! And for those over seas including Maggie's cousin Karin and Uncle Tom I wish them a safe trip and swift and safe return home!

Salem Vacation

This is post that should definitely have made its way here back in August, but better late than never. Anyways Jay and I decided that amongst all of our wedding planning we needed a little break and we made our way up to Salem, Mass. However, when I think Salem I think Halloween so maybe now is the perfect time for this post. Anyways, since Jay and I wanted to escape form the world all well most of the pictures that we took were of our friend Mort. So to document our trip the places and thing we wanted to take pictures of we put Mort in.

So meet Mort!
After our drive up to mass we decided to take a little detour at a par where Mort decided he wanted to ride a bike.
As we kept on driving Jay actually spotted this tank on the side of the rode, so of course we had to take a picture, and Mort just had to steal the spotlight and hop into Jay's picture
Here is Mort, in his travel case which coincidentally is also Jay's camera bag!
Then as we were walking through downtown Salem, Mort spotted a Rita's which is a super awesome Italian ice place. They were even highlighting a new flavor "Swedish fish" which of course Jay and Mort were both very excited about!
Then Jay wanted to get a new hat so we ran into a hat store and Mort had fun trying on just about all the hats here are just a few!
So when we left the hat store we found this super cool fire alarm post that was just chilling outside in public.
Mort liked collecting stickers and after visiting the witch museum wanted to pose for the camera!
At the end of the first night Jay wanted to take a walking ghost tour, and Mort and I were both a little nervous about what we might see. Lucky for Mort he could cover his eyes, I had to keep my eyes open so I wouldn't fall on my face.
On day 2 of our trip, we decided to go see "cry innocent" which is a play that deals with the Bridget Bishop trial. Whats cool is that the beginning of the play takes place on the cobblestone streets in the center and then after they capture Bridget they drag her to the court house and as the actors shout out they are going to see a hanging everyone in the streets starts crowding together to go see the trial play out. The whole trial is very participation driven which was quite awesome. Now Mort not to be left out as we were running with the crowds to the court house he grabbed one of the townsmen and snuck a picture with him.
To end our weekend away we made one of the most important stops of the day at the one and only Ben & Jerry's!!!! I think Mort had a little to much fun though
We can not wait until our next vacation away and Mort has been planning our next weekend away so keep checking in for Mort's next adventure!

Germanfest with Family

Every year my cousins from Germany come down to visit and this year my mom had the bright idea of having a German themed party in honor of her family's heritage. So there was food, desert, and of course a lot of fun! Now since Jay and I are not big fans of German food we found ourselves eating with the kids and enjoying the ever delectable chicken cutlets and Portuguese spaghetti (Jay isn't the only pork chop in our family hence the Portuguese spaghetti)! Anyways while we weren't eating I ran around and snagged a few shots of my cousins and thought they were so cute that they just needed to be posted!!!

So lets start with a few of the younger boy cousins... man o man these boys are a trip!!!

Seriously look at how much fun they have!!

Now on the other side of the spectrum the girls are much more subdued but totally love to have fun!

The adults on the other hand are just a crazy bunch. This picture actually features my mom with all of her siblings!

And if you put the boys the girls and some of the adults together no one wants to focus... hahaha

Here is an up close and personal picture of my cousin Mikey who is from Germany!!! He is such a cutie!!!

Now Mikey, kept trying to hide from the camera and definitly was not going to be caught smiling, so my uncle Andy helped coax a fun face by tickling Mikey!!!

And again the girls in my family are much more up for smiling at the camera here is Mikey's sister Franciska!

And I just had to throw this picture in because I couldn't believe it! Well I guess I can!!! Anyways my parent's have an adorable Brittaney spaniel named Penny and 10PM is her bed time (ironically our puppies night night time is 10pm as well) so since everyone was in the dining room she didn't go and hop into my parent's bed she want and cuddled herself into a dog bed in the corner of the dining room and my mom put a blanket on her and she fell asleep!! I find it so funny that people treat there dog's like they are human :0)

I can not wait until next year!!! Haben Sie ein Haus der sicheren Reise! Tschüss Unkel Mike, Franciska, and Mikey!!

Eric's teasers

This past weekend Jay and I had the pleasure of hanging out with some very good friends of ours. Eric wanted some pictures taken and of course Jay and I jumped at the opportunity to shoot a friend and we even were able to have our good friend Chris come along and shoot with us as well. We had such a great time running around and trying some new things and of course we can not forget that I did the running man on the trestle. :0) So with out further ado here are a few teasers from a super fun day with Eric.

Meet Eric!! Eric actually had this totally awesome Monster hat that I still want to know where he got it and he also designs skateboard decks how totally fricking cool is that!

So if you know anything about me, I am all about finding some super dangerous stuff and then non chalantly but very seriously asking people if they would be up for it. and of course Eric was!!!!! So we had Eric climb off the railroad track and down onto the bridge over the water and pose for some fun shots!!!!

Okay, so I totally have to give Chris some credit on this shot that he grabbed. He captured Eric's Ollie thing and the sun set!!!! Totally a sick picture!!! Love it!

At the end of our night Jay was actually becoming a little bit more photographically daring and wanted to try some new stuff out so he took the flash off his camera, and Chris and I grabbed some mag lites and we all started playing with some flashes and back lighting and here is a teaser from one of the shots that we captured... Not to bad for a first try!

Well, that is it for now stay tuned for more pictures of our fun shoot with Eric!!! And thank you Eric and Chris for hanging out with us and being such great sports!!

Greg, Eric, and Mikey

This past weekend Jay and I spent with some of our friends celebrating the one and only Dominick's birthday. We had such a fun time watching him open all his presents and then the lack of pictures became the result of we all wanted to play with the cool LEGO(R) toys and the flying helecopters. I really do not know who had more fun the adults or little Dominick! But soon enough it was 9:00 and bed time and of course with our friends crazyness is not far behind. But when I got home and was reviewing some of the pictures that we captured from the night I really liked some and wanted to share a few with all of you!
+
I just love how this picture turned out we were all joking around about stereotypical poses for the camera and of course this was one of them but I just loved how it turned out!!!
+
+
So here we have Eric, I was totally stoked to have captured a picture of him rocking out in Rock Band!!! Eric and the rest of the guys are absolutely amazing at the game and it is such a relaxing fun time to listen to music, sing along, and just laugh in the company of friends!
+
+
And, I caught a picture of Mikey when he wasn't posing. You may recognize Mikey from a few of our other shoots he is one of those guys that definitly can brighten up a room with his enthusiasim and carisima. (and yes this was during rock band as well... This was while Mikey was belting out the lyrics to some Metallica songs!!)
Thanks you guys for a fabulous night and I know it is just one of many great times with friends!!!

Our new addiction

So about a week ago we went out on a adventure shopping. Oh boy, going shopping for last minute wedding things and boom something caught my eye. No it was not any thing to do with Disney's Car's lol. It was something I have never seen before, at first I thought it was a mirage, but behold it was the new Hershey Kisses in Candy Corn flavor, yes you heard it right CANDY CORN. I was like holy ****, and grabbed a bag. I checked it out and said what the heck lets grab one and see how they are.

When we got to the car I could not wait to rip into that bag and give em a whirl, and just as i imagined they were awesome. It was just like a piece of candy corn but better. At first I was like how do you make candy corn better than it was, but some how Hershey's did it. So our Hat's off to you Mr. Hershey man, and Thank You.

So now since it is fall, we have them out for clients when they come in for a consult or a chat, and of course friends, family, and us :)

And just for fun Maggie had a great idea of throwing our rings on a few and grabbing a shot.

Our First Dance!!!

Ohhh and we can't forget our first dance... Jay and I spent a few months getting private dance lessons at Fred Astaire's with our awesome instructor Martin!!!! Martin totally made the first dance and helped Jay and I really become comfortable with the movements and helped us infuse our personality into the dance!!! I totally recommend this studio for anybody, engaged, married, single, just looking for something to do or for a fun type of exercise. This place definitely will have what you are looking for. So with out further ado check out our first dance!!!
