Our first PUG hosting.

Wednesday night the 25th of FEB we hosted our first PUG meeting. If you have been following the blog, em hum--- you should be :) we have been getting ready for this awesome occasion.
We had a few people as you can see from the photos below.

All in all it was a great thing to prepare for it, which forced us to get some things around the house done that needed to get done, which totally worked out for not only our benefit but our guests too. We had Connecticut's finest photographers (and some joining states as well) all piled together in out home to have a blast, Justin and Mary decided to theme the night in honor of the Oscars. People brought some awesome Oscar themed food, such as Frosted Nixon cupcakes, The Dark Chocolate Night Hershey kisses. It was Awesome.

Every month there is a PUG meeting and it revolves to different members homes or studios and there is a guest speaker that does a presentation on either business or personal item. This month it we had the pleasure to have the legendary one and only Robert Norman, his presentation was how he got his start in this business and how he continues to market himself. He will also be revealing some info on his newly launched PHODcasts, which are taking iTunes by storm!

Everyone was very close with each other and maybe even a little personal ;) but you can see how Justin and Mary Marantz began the night as we all sat quietly and listened, yea right, but we did listen and laugh, we laughed a lot that night my cheeks are still sore.

Here is Robert giving his presentation as David Apuzzo and myself look on in awww. Especially when the slide came up about Satan being a Lesbian, oh my...... That was some funny stuff.
Can't wait till next month :)

Mrs. Dwyer

So we have been having a blast working with some absolutely fabulous and amazing women. One of our most recent boudoir session was with the fabulous Mrs. Dwyer She was, so photogenic and was amazing and a ton of fun to work with. In addition to Mrs. D., we were lucky to have awesomely talented women on hand to help with setting the mood for the days session, Christina Thompson Burdge was on hand for hair and the amazing Jennifer Schreier was there for make up and giving our lovely lady some help with posing. Of course as most people are she was a little shy but all it took was some great friends and words of encouragement and she completely lit up the room and was such a joy to work with.

Our Dog Frankie

So Jason and I have been trying to get our house clean and ready for a PUG meeting that we are hosting at our house on Wednesday! For those of you that do not know what PUG is it stands for Pictage Users Group, but basically it is a group of professional photographers from CT that get together for monthly meetings. Its an awesome group of people and we always look forward to the meetings. But I am getting a head of my self! Lets step back a little bit, so getting the house ready for 30+ people is no easy task, the house needed touch up paint, the bathroom needed to be painted and the office needed to be cleaned. Now for 2 people living in a house you would think this would be a quick and easy task!

Well, Meet Frankie the one that will make this task not so easy!!!

So this is our sweet, lovable, adorable dog Frankie, our 7 year old rottie!! Frankie is really more like a member of our family and Jay and I definitely consider him more like a son then a dog! So Frankie thinks of cleaning as a personal obstacle course that he needs to maneuver. So, for example when I cleaned under the couch and took his toys and put them into Frankie's bedroom, he though ohhh this is fun lets bring all the toys back in to the living room!! Anyway this game lasted a good half hour, until finally I gave up. Then I needed to mop the floors so I tried to barricade the kitchen and then the living room so that Frankie could not get in. WRONG, Frankie thought ohh mom made me an obstacle course and ohh look at the bubbles!!! So Frankie walked back and forth as if doing some recon and then as soon as I was just about finished mopping and thinking Yes I kept the dog out! Frankie, jumped over the Ottoman, squeezed between the chairs and then stealthy crawled under the table and before I knew it there were paw prints all over my newly mopped floor and then in trying to get him out of the room he got out and just looked at me with those big puppy dog eyes that just said What Mom, don't you know i love you!! And now the dog i tried to keep out of the kitchen was free and I was stuck behind the great wall of the henriques house hold so I couldn't even be mad at him because I couldn't get out!
Then the icing on the cake, was when we had a good friend of ours over to help us with some spackling and painting later that day. Well, as the evening pogressed we kept noticing spots of spackle all over the house, on the walls, on the carpet and on the couches. So Jay, Joe and I were all continuously checking each other because we figured it had to be one of us because every time Frankie walked by he had no noticeable paint or spackle on him. Well, turns out, Frankie found the spackle cover in the garbage and spackle was all over his butt and his back paws. So we had found our spackle culprit! Well in our quest to chase him outside so we can clean him up. He brushed against the newly painted bathroom walls and now our dog was covered in spackle and blue paint we just needed to figure out how to mount him to the wall as a piece of art.
Well it has been a crazy few days and now Frankie is all cleaned and we can get back to re painting and re cleaning the house!!! But it will all be worth it when the house is finally clean!!! ;0) and for those of you with pets you know that the house is never clean. hehehehe

Sexy Sailor Dani

Last Sunday Maggie and I had the pleasure to do a sexy photo session with some of our very good friends. Dani and I have actually known each other since back during the high school days and she was more than happy to come over and do some fun sailor shots!!

The whole day Dani just had a smile on her face and was all about having such a good time and I really think we captured her fun characteristics in the next few pictures!!
I just love the surprised look here!!! Totally Dani!!
We were even able to get some really sexy shots of her laying in the hallway of our house. I think the wood floor makes for a fabulous background!!

Slide Show for Big and Little Squeaks

Kevin and Little Kevin

So last monday Maggie and I had the pleasure of doing a photo session with a good friend/crew chief/ captain! I know, I know Kevin or Squeaks as he is more formally known is a man that goes by many different titles! Not only is he a son, a husband, an awesome father, but he is also an EMT, and a Fire Fighter. Which led us to the inspiration for this photo shoot. Squeaks' son is already looking as though he is going to be following in his Dad's foot steps every time he visits his Dad at work he is always wanting to jump in the driver seat of the ambulance or play with the sirens in the fire truck! So Maggie and I met Squeaks his wife and little Kevin at the fire house for an awesome photo session. Little Kevin even came totally prepared with his own turn out gear it was soo cute...

so we were able to get on to the fire trucks and take some great pics!!

We had such a great time shooting little Kevin and his Dad!!! We can not wait for Kayla's photo shoot at the ambulance core!!!

Baby Jayden

Tuesday night we were called to participate in our first NILMDTS shoot, we shadowed with Nicole Taylor of NLT Photography who is a fellow photographer and friend. It was a wonderful experience, the circumstances were not wonderful but we made a difference, if not that day soon in the future. The parents of baby Jayden will now have photos of their child that will last a lifetime and longer.
God Bless this organization, Baby Jayden and his loving family.

NILMDTS

As you may know we are a part of a wonderful organization called Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep.

A little About the organization.
"Pregnancy and birth are miraculous journeys. This amazing time of life is full of mystery, anticipation, joy, hope, and wonder. Feeling the powerful energy of birth and new life, watching as a new family is born unto each other. These things humble and amaze. These are the things that we celebrate when a baby is born.

But there is another aspect of pregnancy and birth. There is an unexpected place in this journey where some families may find themselves. When a baby dies, a world is turned upside down. There is confusion, sadness, fear, and uncertainty that cannot be explained. There is sorrow where there should have been joy. During this time, it might be impossible for families to know what they might need in order to heal in the future.

This is the place where the Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep Foundation gently provides a helping hand and a healing heart. For families overcome by grief and pain, the idea of photographing their baby may not immediately occur to them. Offering gentle and beautiful photography services in a compassionate and sensitive manner is the heart of this organization. The soft, gentle heirloom photographs of these beautiful babies are an important part of the healing process. They allow families to honor and cherish their babies, and share the spirits of their lives.

The Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep Foundation (NILMDTS) administers a network of almost 6,000 volunteer photographers in the United States and twenty-five international countries. At a family's request, a NILMDTS Affiliated Photographer will come to your hospital or hospice location and conduct a sensitive and private portrait session. The portraits are then professionally retouched and presented to the families on an archival DVD or CD that can be used to print portraits of their cherished baby.
Our entire network of affiliated photographers graciously donate their time and talents to our families and we are proud to be able to offer our services at no cost.Your Donations are greatly needed and greatly appreciated."

Jen and Wendell

Jen and Wendell are such fun loving people!! An are always a pleasure to shoot!! Maggie and I as you might remember had the pleasure of being a groomsmen and a bridesmaid in there wedding! Even with the huge snow storm the night before and the night after we had a fabulous time at there wedding!! Now that the snow is begining to melt and they are back from their Hawaii honeymoon we took the opportunity to snag a few post wedding couples portraits of the two!!!

Okay so all day the wind had been such an issue but, I relly think it works here!! The way it blows her hair and the expression on there faces totally express who they are as a couple!!

So here is a picture that we took of the pair from down the stairs!! Hottness!!!
So we were over by Archie Moores and had to snag a couple of pictures of Wendell checking his beautiful wife out!!! This is another favortie of mine, I just love how the sun shines out between the two of them~
Like I said before these two are a ton of fun to be around so we had to throw a few pictures on the blog that truely show there amazing personalities!!
So as we were walking down the road we had to sneak into the alley way for some fun pictures!!!
So Maggie has this fascination with legs and shoes but the angle is truly fun!! Look at that bling!!!
We are total suckers for the forehead kiss and when anyone takes a picture like that we have to post it!!! Its just such a truly loving gesture that needs to be displayed!!

Joe and Katie

Joe and Katie are an amazing couple they go together like two peas in a pod! This lovely duo actually got married back in May of 2008 and we had the pleasure of attending there wedding!!! Which was a ton of fun!! Anyways they joined us on a trip to Fairfield and were a total blast to shoot!

So over by the train station there is this awsome painting and of course we just needed a willing couple to pose and luckily Katie and Joe were all about having some crazy fun!!

Ahh... you can just see how much they love each other!! They are just missing the milk shake with 2 straws!!!

I just love this shot from over head!! It really captures the passion that they have for each other!
This is a total sexy time picture, with the way there hands are intertwined!! Look at this one I just love it!! It captures there happiness, love, and joy that they have spending time together!
So as we continued our tour of Fairfield we actually found some awsome benches across from the green and we stopped and posed for some pictures! Katies bright blue eyes just pop in this one!
