Alessandra & Peter get hitched....

How did they meet:
We've known each other our whole lives. Peter's elder brother Sean is the best friend of my, Alessandra's bro-in-law Michael Vincent, whom my sister has dated since she was 15. Peter and I probably first met in the McKee backyard in the annual family reunion-bbq which took place every July.

How did he pop the question:
Peter and I took a trip to Block Island Christmas week 2009. The island is deserted, but very tranquil and beautiful that time of year. I made him take a hike over to the labyrinth at the North Light in freezing cold weather. The Labyrinth is a sacred spot on the island where one is supposed to meditate on one's path through life, and which direction one's life is going in, at the center, you can make an offering. Peter offered up his hand in marriage.

They got married on Block Island at The Spring House Hotel which is a beautiful venue that overlooks the ocean. We got to spend a few days out there and it is a beautiful place. We will blog about our adventures there too soon ;)

Call us nuts....

We may be a little out there, but something about squirrels are so cute to me. I have such a soft mushy heart for animals, well most of them. Skunks and raccoons are cool but I would rather see them from a distance, haha. Sometimes when I just sit and lack motivation to do anything else I like to just stare at nature. Something about nature is so revitalizing and inspirational.

Which brings me to the part about us being nuts. We like to feed the squirrels fresh nuts, mostly peanuts, and sometimes a peanut with a little peanut butter on it for a treat. These little guys are free and do not worry about the worlds situation. They worry about food and shelter and seem super happy to just get a nut ;)

So the message I'm trying to get across is to live life to its fullest, Be happy, Be kind, Share, and Love one another.

Nick & Meg get hitched....

How did they meet?
Nick and Meg randomly met in December 2007.  Nick was in New York City visiting an old friend from school. That night Nick's friend's friend got a call inviting him to a party in Brooklyn. Deciding to give Brooklyn a shot, the three boys ventured across the East River to the Radegast Hall & Biergarten.  Not long after arriving, Nick spotted Meg across the group with a pitcher of German beer.  They started talking and immediately hit it off.  The rest, as they say, is history!

How did he pop the question?
Due to UK visa restrictions in 2010, Meg was unable to return home for Christmas that year, therefore the whole family arranged to hold another "Christmas" in April 2011.  With the Christmas tree still looking surprisingly healthy from December, the family gathered in the living room unwrapping presents that Christmas morning.  Once the last present was opened, Nick said he had one more and got down on one knee in front of Meg and the 10 other family members and asked for her hand in marriage. Needless to say, Meg said yes!

The wedding was held at Meg's parents house under the stars in a beautiful tent. The Barn was next to the tent with a full service bar. They had an amazing group and the best time ever!!!

Honoring that special someone...

Here is a quick tip on how to make sure that certain missed family member or friend gets to spend your glorious day partying like its 1999 with you ;)

I know its a tough subject for everyone to deal with, but sometimes you want to have that special someone there. So we have witnessed many different ways to do this that we wanted to share. You can put photos on a table, or roses in the places where they would sit. Say a blessing and have a moment of silence too, but there are other fun ways that you can have them with you too :) These mini photo frames are awesome to use on your bouquets or shoes.

We got to be guests....

We made sure our Sunday best was out, clean, and ironed. I paired a black 3 piece suit with a grey shirt and blue and grey bow tie. I am now a master of tying bow ties!! Maggie went out and acquired a beautiful new blue dress and black heels. (I mean what girl really needs a excuse to get a new dress) but this time she nailed it. My wife is beautiful as is but beautiful did not describe he radiance that day. I am seriously the luckiest guy on the planet :)

On Sunday Maggie and I had the pleasure of being the guests at a wedding for a change. Maggie was semi part of the ceremony. She was honored to do a reading for her life long friend. The ceremony was beautiful, but I spent most of the time glancing at my wife and leading my hand closer to hers like a 13 year old boy at the movies. I have to admit that I was caught reaching for my camera a few times, but it really shows how much we love weddings.
