Jay and I love when a vision we have comes to life and the next few months we are going to have several visions come to life we are so excited. But lets start with this first vision. I have for a long time wanted to a shoot that had some dance influence. So we got in touch with the fabulous Tiffany Hall-Scarmana and she was available to do make up and hair for this awesome shoot! We also were able to work with Justine Danielle who is so very talented and was great to work with!
Justine was so great and did so many wardrobe changes and we were so excited to get a wide variety of shots.
In addition to dancing we also played with some awesome fabric and it was great to see what Justine could do with it!
Jumping and playing with fabric
Well the sun had almost set but I wanted to get some water shots and Justine was such a great sport and was all about jumping in the water!
Thank you Justine Danielle and Tiffany for an awesome shoot and we look forward to working with you both again soon!
We have waited quite some time for this post but finally we are able to announce that Steph and Brian have FINALLY had their beautiful baby girl! She was born perfect 10 little fingers and 10 little toes. She arrived on July 9th, 2010 at 10:46 am. She weighed 6 lbs, 15 oz and measured 18 inches long.
So without further ado here is Braelynn Ann!!!!
A cute little daisy
I love her little squished face
She is such an angel
Steph did such an amazing job getting her daughters room ready and it really is a dream room for any little girl! I love how it looks like she is smiling at the camera. Barely a week old and she already knows how to work the camera!
Look at her all bundled up
Look at her all asleep on the batch of towels!! Simply adorable!
Mommy did such a good job of picking outfits out for Braelynn.
Congratulations Steph and Brian!!! She is absolutely beautiful we look forward to watching her grow up! <3>
This June while Jay and I were on our honeymoon in Maui (don’t worry pictures coming soon) we decided to put together a shoot out! With the help of some awesome photographers we were able to get all the details put together and were able to pull off an awesome shoot out! First off thank you to the wonderful Mrs. Anna Kim who helped us get some of the details together and put us in touch with Mr. Paulo Mendes who allowed us to use his studio to get ready and as a place to meet up. Now of course we did not expect everything to go smoothly and as of the morning of the shoot our MUA and hair stylist had backed out but the totally and absolutely amazing Dan Sanchez and his team of MUA and stylists drove across the island to meet up with us and totally rocked out the models looks!
Here is a quick behind the scenes video from the shoot out:
So the setting for this awesome shoot was in the Bamboo Forest on the Hana Highway. Here is heather totally rocking out the bamboo! (Also want to give a huge shout out to her boyfriend. He was extremely helpful holding reflectors and gear! It was really awesome having someone willing to do that so the photographers could all get a chance to take pictures.)
Totally having a girly geek moment here the glittery abs totally made me think of Twillight but when I made the reference at the shoot out Dylan didn’t know what I was talking about because he had not seen the movie and Jay just made fun of me!
Another ab portrait
Over by the waterfall we had Heather do some dance poses
Loved this picture
We then headed to the beach for a totally different look! Dylan does a lot off modeling for running magazines so we wanted to give him a few running pics
We ended our shoot out on the rocks with some couple portraits.
Again thanks to all that participated I know Jay and I really had an absolutely amazing time and we truly hope we can all get together again the next time we are out on Maui!!!

So you might have remembered Steph from her 6 month baby bump shots well we are getting closer to the finish line and that means more pictures! Well here are just a couple from our shoot with Steph this past week!
And here is Steph just about 4 weeks from her due date!
Love the belly!
Braelynn is going to be the greatest gift her mommy and daddy have ever received!
This is one of my favorite shots from our session! Steph you look absolutely gorgeous!
Thank you Brian and Steph for letting us take these pictures for you guys!!! You are going to make such cute parents and I know that Jay and I cannot wait until July 4th to meet Braelynn! What an awesome birthday every year she will have fireworks!!!
This past Sunday, Jay and I had the privilege to work with some of our talented friends to pull off our May Shoot Out! We along with some of our friends have been trying to put these together once a month because we find it to be a truly amazing experience to work with other photographers who have as much passion about what they do as we do.
So this month we were able to shoot at a location not to far from our house that truly was awesome. There were so many different backgrounds to choose from to compose your image. What was cool about what we did this month as opposed to last month was we broke up into pairs and we each worked with a model and lighting and then we would switch. This gave the models a lot of diversity for their portfolios and all of us the photographers the experience of seeing how we all can see the same building or property but yet capture a completely unique image. So make sure you check out what the other photographers captured Sunday too!!! Something that we have also been doing, mainly because we have fun doing it is recording the randomness that goes on while we are shooting. So make sure you check out this shoot outs randomness too!!
Now for some of what we captured!!!!
I guess we will start with my shots first here is Lauren Marie working it!!! Loved the angle on this one Totally loved this dandelion shot
So I'm not really sure why this backhoe was here but the bright yellow color was awsome and it worked with the outfit
Loved the light post and how Alexa posed here.... Total fabulosity!!!
I was so excited when Alexa was willing to climb up on the tree stumps for a little something different and I was stoked on how the pictures turned out!
Here are a few of Jay’s capture!!!!
I never would have thought to use this area the way David and Jay did and they both totally rocked it!!!
Alexa was totally working it!!! Love how he used the doorway here Seriously total hotness!!!
Again thanks to all that participated I know Jay and I really had an awesome time and hope we can all get together again in June!
This past Saturday Jason and I had the great opportunity to work with a very talented team of individuals. The idea started when Jay had to come up with a final project for his photography class. He decided he would like to get some antique cars together and some pinup style models and collaborate the two together with some of our fabulous personalities to create some awesome pictures.
I know I am one that loves to know how some of these pictures came to be. So here is a behind the scenes look of what went on this past Saturday hope you enjoy!
Well now that you have seen what happened behind the scenes here is a look at some of our final products.
Our first model up was Kris who totally embodied the pin up look!!!
What was even cooler was that she also is a hair stylist and makeup artist and was able to stand in when one of our stylists couldn’t make it!!!! But look at her she just rocks!!
Next girl up was the fantastic Farrah! We went with a bit of a different look here with the jeans but I love how she totally rocked it!
In the words of Jay’s Dad, “Tell me this doesn’t look like an ad for Snap On!”
Then we had Michaela who totally rocked the glam look!
And of course we had to play with the trunk on the car be sure to check out our fan page on facebook to see more of these!!
We also had the great pleasure of working with Gabrielle who again brought a different spin on the shoot!
.
Then we had Cheyenne who was a ton of fun to shoot and had a great personality!
Jay’s fave pose
Then last but certainly not least we had Vikki!!! Who had ever modeled before but was willing to try anything and have fun! Which of course Jay and I love about people!!
Vikki was actually able to stay a bit later after the rain had stopped to take some picture
up on the roof of the parking garage and man oh man was I glad that she could stay! This picture came out so friggin awesome!

Just want to give one more shout out to everyone that helped us out Saturday first and foremost Jay’s dad Archie and his friend John and Bob who put us in contact with Ross of Imperial Limousine who let us use his vehicles and his portion of the garage for the shoot. (Definitely check him out if you need a limo for anything. He actually provided the limo’s for our wedding back in September)
Also a huge thank you to the models and hair and make up stylists!!!! You all rocked our socks!!!!
So a few weeks ago Jay and I got together with a few photographer friends and had a great afternoon of hanging out and shooting! I know that I already posted some pictures but I finally finished putting the behind the scenes clips together and wanted to share them with everyone!!! Enjoy and don't forget to leave some comments!!!! :0)
On April 14th Jay and I packed up our gear early in the morning and headed to the North Haven Academy Paul Mitchell Partner School for an awesome shoot. We were going to be taking pictures for the Wonderland of Hair show!!! What what!! I was super excited and could not wait for what this new experience held in store for us. On this shoot we tried to get a lot of different things we wanted behind the scenes pictures, we wanted head shots for the stylists portfolios, we wanted some fun artistic stuff, some fun cast pictures and of course photos of the show! Between Jay and I, we were really able to get a lot of great shots. Here is a sampling of what we got hope you enjoy!!!!

People sometimes find me to be distracted, lying low in the background while I am supposed to be setting them up for a typical portrait. They may think I am not paying attention to them, but they are wrong. I am paying attention to everything. The environment is my canvas, I see the sun starting to come out from the clouds, and realize that soon there will be a pleasing but transient play of light and shadow; I see an object that is far in the distance but know it will become part of a beautiful composition. I see the bird as it flies overhead and know it will bring an exciting addition to the image; I see a person's face, and know the emotions that flicker by can be frozen in time... I am a firm believer in capturing a person’s true emotion it what makes an image hold value. Emotion is beauty in its purest form. Everything is a photograph—all I have to do is look. And I am always looking. As a photographer, I spend time in my heart, and I shoot from my heart.
