Shining bright like a diamond. A how-to, to keep your rings clean and shiny :)

Let's start this off by saying that we LOVE ring shots!!!

I love a clean and sparkly ring as much as anyone else, but have you ever wondered how to keep it shining bright like a diamond?  Many people work, and just plain do things with your hands every day, unless you have a sweet maid and butler so you are pampered all day long (hey we can dream can't we)  and with that our rings get dirty. We all want to keep our rings shiny and sparkling like the when we first got it. The question is, how exactly can you get your ring deep down clean without causing any damage to it?

The first thing to do is don't loose it lol. We start with 1 toothbrush, 3 cups ( haha I know what you were just thinking) Head over to a flat surface, kitchen counter, table, desk, etc... I would not recommend the bathroom since theres way to many little creatures in there that would love to swallow it. Also I would recommend having the setting checked by your jeweler every year to make sure the stone is still where it should be. Some warranty's that you purchase with your ring will cover this (sometimes it is required) as well as free cleaning.
Ok so on to the how-to, fill cup #1 with about 3 tablespoons of peroxide (enough to let the ring soak) Fill cup #2 with soapy water, and fill cup #3 with just plain old warm water. Now take that pretty little bad boy off your finger, feel free to pretend to be a hand model at this time ;) Drop it into Cup #1 and allow it to soak for about 5 minutes. When the ring is done soaking pull it out of the peroxide, grab a tooth brush (that you wont use on your teeth again) and dunk it in the soapy water Cup #2. Now gently scrub down the ring getting all the little cracks and small areas. After you scrubbed it all down rinse it off by rinsing it off in the cup of warm water Cup #3, let it hang out in there for about 5 minutes.
So the process is pretty simple, and should be done roughly every 2 weeks. Then make sure it goes back in the box or back on that pretty little finger of yours ;)
Let us know about more tips and tricks you would like to see :)

Police, Fire, EMS FREE Portrait

Jay and I, had been racking our brains trying to think of a way to help during the wake of the tragedy in Newtown and then it hit us! One of things we noticed looking back in our own lives especially being first responders (yep Jay and I, have been EMTs for the past 10 years both in a volunteer and paid capacity) was that we never really had any nice pictures of us together and having put together memorial slideshows we really have noticed that it is so often that families have become so busy that pictures just go to the wayside.
So, with the help of the Bethel Fire Department we will be holding an event where all first responders can come with there families and have a professional photo taken of them completely free of charge. No gimmicks, no nothing, come in and get a digital portrait with the ones that mean the most to you.
Anyways, since I can't be on the ambulance right now because of the baby, this is what we thought we could do to help and give back to those that mean so much to us and do so much for others!

You can follow updates about the event on our "event page" on facebook: http://www.facebook.com/events/143911752431530/

Let it snow, Let it snow, let it snow....

Where Jay could do without the winter and the cold and above all the clean up that comes with the snow. I totally love the snow and all the awesomeness that comes with it. You know sledding, snowball fights, making snow angels and snowmen! So, when the snow started falling the other day I was all about getting outside and getting a picture of the growing bump in the snow. But, convincing Jay to leave the warm house where we were both lounging on the couch in front of the pellet stove in jammies catching up on Dexter and Duck Dynasty was not going to be easy. So, I had to be creative and I told him I was going sledding! Yep 34 weeks prego and I was going sledding didn't know where but that's what I was going to do. And he turned the TV up and told me I was insane. Then I got a lucky break his Dad called and said the snow was turning to rain and the hormone flood gates opened and between tears I was telling Jay how all I wanted was one picture of me and belly in the snow and if it rains I will never get this picture, ever, ever! :(

Well, I have the most amazing hubby ever and he told me to go put some warm clothes on and we would run out and take one picture in the snow if when we got home I would make him some hot chocolate. I was in I quickly got ready and he grabbed the camera gear and some hand warmers (always thinking) and we drove over to the city green. We were just able to snap a few photos before the snow started mixing with rain but in my opinion he totally nailed it!

Oh yea ... I definitely made him some hot chocolate complete with marshmallows, whip cream, and sprinkles when we got home!

Stay tuned for more belly pictures, only 6 more weeks until we go from being just a couple to being a family!! Ahhh so excited!!!

Nick & Meg tie the knot

We love a little back yard wedding, Well this was a back yard wedding but not a small yard. It was kinda on a farm :) Which was so awesome. So let's back track a bit with a kind of funny story. A while back I got a email from Meg while she was in London. Now at the time there were lots of spam/scam emails going around about weddings from people in the UK. The email seemed sincere and had a phone number...... so I called it :) Her dad answered and the rest is history.

I am glad I called because meeting Nick & Meg was awesome. They are such a sweet couple and we are totally blessed with the people we meet, through our photography.

Meg is originally from the good ole USA and Nick is from London. It all started with a stare from across the bar. Now they are married and living happily ever after in London.

These guys are serious Zombie fans. They even dress up and do Zombie Pub crawls... How cool is that?

Nick's Dad was super fun, every time he saw me he would do something crazy like this. Love when people are themselves around us :) That's what we LOVE!!

So if having the wedding in the backyard of an awesome house with a farm attached wasn't enough, Meg arrived with some serious horse power ;)

Look at these love birds.... Come on.... How lovely :)

Time to party!!!

Peek-a-boo

A little bit of plowed farm land. Look at that sky... can you believe everyone was worried about rain...lol

Raw Horse Power

Love is in the Air...

Told you they love zombies :)

A big thank you to Nick & Me for letting be apart of their wedding!!

Happy 2013!!!

As we roll into the year 2013 and leave 2012 behind us we look back on all the amazing people we have met, all the moments we shared, and all the friends we have made. Now we look forward to see where all of our new friends will go this year, all the new connections we will make, and our family expanding. 2012 was a wild ride but watch out 2013 we installed seat belts and a roll bar.

So here's to the past, the present, and seeing what tomorrow brings. We LOVE you all and can't wait to see what happens this year.

Shoot us a email photos@jasonhenriques.com with things you would like to see from us this year, tutorials, certain shoots, or just more about us :)

Happy New Year!!!!!!!!

Let's get the gears turing........
