Surprise Engagment Part 1

Typically Maggie and I will get a phone call or an email from a bride after she has some bling on that very important finger. However, we recently actually had the opportunity of helping in the planning of how to pop the question. Its not everyday that we get to help in the planning of popping the question with the exception of planning my proposal to Maggie this was going to be a rare experience. Well, after going back and forth on a few ideas Jonathan (the guy popping the question) decided on creating a photo album.
Okay, lets step back a minute and explain why this idea was so perfect for them. Well, his soon to be fiancé Beth, every year makes him a photo album of everything they have done together for the year. How cool is that? So, the plan was that Jonathan was going to have all the moments prior to asking Beth to marry him photographed and put into a photo album with the last page being...you guessed it. Will you marry me!! But there was another twist we were not going to take a picture of the actual ring at all so that it would be a surprise after she finished looking through the album. So, check out a sneak peak of Jonathan getting ready for the big moment.



Beth is going to be presented with a beautifully custom designed ring and we had the privilege of going with Jonathan when he went to pick it up.

Joanna and Jeff get Hitched

 A while back Jason had the incredible privilege of second shooting Joanna and Jeff's wedding with the fabulous, Valeen of Sweetest Days Photography at Zukas Hilltop Barn.


 

While, Valeen was photographing the ladies I went over and had the opportunity to photograph the guys getting ready for the wedding.

Meet Wyatt Grayson Our New Assistant Photographer

February 17, 2013 is a day that came in went in the Henriques household. We were hoping it would be the day that we would be meeting our son but alas as with all good things he made us wait. So, Monday Jay and I, decided we would try some of the old tricks to bring this baby into the world so we started with going to the gym to walk on the treadmills and rounded out the day with going to Chili’s and having some spicy food. Which seemed to do the trick because on our way home from Chili’s at around 8PMish my water broke but I was not in active labor. We called the OB and headed into Bridgeport Hospital for 11pm. Since, we were past our due date our bags were already packed and the house was clean and ready to welcome the baby.

When we got to the hospital we were wheeled via wheelchair up to labor and delivery and yep my water broke and we were going to get admitted. From that point forward contractions eventually started and we started doing laps around the labor and delivery floor. By noon on February 19^th I finally got an epidural and was much more comfortable. Family began to show up and around 8PMish I told Jay he should go get some food and not even 30 minutes later I was texting him to come back to the room because we were ready to start pushing. So, 9PM the pushing started and at 9:19PM our little miracle entered into the world.
