A long while ago Jay and I, gave a photo shoot away to a lucky winner at a car show in Shelton, CT. The lucky winner’s was the fabulously awesome Mitchell Family. We were all finally able to get together recently to take pictures of this amazing family. We had such a great time doing everything from playing on the swing set, to going for wagon rides to the family just enjoying being together.

A few weeks ago Jay and I had the pleasure of shooting a spectacularly pink baby shower at Waterzooi Belgian Bistro for Emily and her little sprinkle. Let me tell you between the awesome food and the totally amazing details this was an amazing baby shower.
Emily, is pregnant with her second child and this little sprinkle is going to be a beautiful baby girl. She is going to be coming into a huge loving family and a big brother that cannot wait to meet her. The proud big brother
The amazing spread! They even had a waffle sundae bar complete with chocolate syrup, caramel, whip cream, oreos! They even had an omelet bar!
The proud mommy and daddy
Emily opening her special gift from Julie, it was Grandma’s pearls re-giffted. To see everyone’s face when she opened it and realized it was grandma’s priceless!

Emily, we cannot wait to meet your little princess! Good luck in the next few weeks we hope they go by fast!
A few weeks ago Jay and I had the opportunity to again shoot North Haven Academy Paul Mitchell Partner School hair show. This seasons theme was Twisted Tales. The school did an amazing take on creaping out our childhood fairy tales and turning them into our worst nightmares. Of course a huge part of the show was the make up and the fantabulous hair designs by the students. Take a look at some of the awsome looks that the students came up with and be sure to check out the school if you are interested in being involved in there next production or if you are interested in becoming a student!!!
Love this shot

One of the girls waiting to have her makeup finished
The wolf! This makeup, body painting, and mask design was done by amazing Klayton Andrew. He is a graduate of the school and actually is doing make up for the Radio City Christmas Spectacular!! How totally awsome is that. Klayton was actually the artistic makeup designer for the entire twisted tales production and him and his team and of course the students totally did a kick a$$ job!
One of the zombie children on the swing set!
Thank you again to North Haven Academy Paul Mitchell Partner School for allowing us to be apart of your awsome production! We can not wait until the next one!
We actually met this fabulous couple and specifically Christine at Beauty Entourage’s Bridal Show, she was the winner of our free engagement session! We were so glad that she won because we had an absolutely amazing time hanging out with them even though Jay wanted to get taco bell and get home to his football game but, he was a great sport and really stuck it out and we are glad he did because we had fun hanging out with them.
So let’s meet this couple!

We ended our time at a lake at the end of the park. Love the reflection in the lake.
Thank you so much Christine and Jay!!! We had such a great time and loved exploring Hubbard Park with you.
We had such a great time a few weekends ago (i know i'm slacking on my blog postings)with our 2011, clients Melissa and Eric. They are truly a great couple and a pleasure to hang out. We had the opportunity to do so many things with them from hanging out at Jones's Winery, to an actual wine tasting, to pumpkin picking, to teaching Eric how to dip Melissa, to watching the sunset at Booth Park (and watching the Indian Guides Ceremony, not sure but lots of boys and Dad's in there indian guide uniforms a teepee and a huge bon fire! Not sure what that has to do with the engagment session except we all had to go scout out what was going on becuase come on we were totally curious) to ending with a great Thai dinner! So with out further ado we present Melissa and Eric's fantabulously awsome engagement shoot!!!
So we started our e-shoot adventure outside at Jones’s Winery in Shelton, CT.
Of course there was some cuddleage going on!
Before we left the vineyard we had to do a wine tasting. It was great because I had never done one before but Melissa and Eric showed us how its done from cleansing the pallet to holding the stem and not the glass! I still don’t like wine but everyone else did and WE had a blast!!!
After the vineyard we headed over to Jones’s pumpkin patch. Which was sooo much fun minus the bazillion kids everywhere, because there was so many cool places to shoot!
They are sooo cute!
Loving Melissa’s tacori!!
While I was ring shotting it up Jay was capturing some fun and intimate moments with Melissa and Eric. Nope, nope I swear we don’t have fun on our shoots… lol we have a friggin blast
So I will end this post with a totally awesome image of Melissa and Eric…. Ok seriously this is by far our most favorite shot to date!!! Love love love it!!!
We had such a great time at the vineyard and park with you guys and we are looking forward to your amazing wedding!
When I was in middle school and high school sitting in Spanish class the one thing I remember from October and November was learning about Día de los Muertos. For those of you unfamiliar in English it is known as day of the dead.
The holiday mainly celebrated in Mexico focuses on the gathering of family and friends to pray for and remember friends and family members who have died. The celebration occurs on November 2 in connection with the Catholic holidays of All Saints' Day (November 1) and All Souls' Day (November 2). Traditions associated with día de los muertos include building altars honoring the deceased using sugar skulls, marigolds, toys, trinkets, and the favorite foods and beverages of the departed. Traditions also include visiting graves with these as gifts. Unfortunately, because the holiday occurs in such close proximity to Halloween, el día de los muertos is sometimes thought to be a similar holiday, although the two really have not very much in common. Día de los Muertos is overall seen as a time of celebration.
So, now knowing a bit of the history behind it we can explain how the idea for this shoot came to be. Back in June we started brainstorming about doing this shoot and putting a team in place. First we got the ever awesome Tiffany Hall, she was the genius behind the makeup and was constantly keeping us pumped up about this shoot. Next on board was the super creative and talented Becky Houle from the Vicious Kitty who was our hair guru! Once getting the creative team in place we then got a few assistants and of course 2 amazing models Julie and Diana. It definitely was a crazy time getting everything all set up from Jay being on detail patrol which included making a bouquet, to customizing skulls, building up the fire in the fire place and of course the day wouldn’t be complete without Jay and I both having bronchitis and sinus infections! And the ladies Tiffany and Becky doing all there amazing work with no power! Seriously they tore it up and the models were amazing!
Be sure to check out our behind the scenes video of the shoot!
So without further ado our Día de los Muertos photo shoot!
First lets meet the fantabulous models, here is Diana!!
And here is Julie!!
We actually lucked out that the location we were shooting at had an awesome stone fireplace complete with a fire! So of course we had to shoot in front of it! Plus it was a bit cold so it was nice to stay warm in front of the fire. Here is Diana heating things up in front of the fire!
And now Julie working it!!
Then we went and played in the grass
Loved the lighting in this one!
Super huge thank you to all those involved and be sure to check them out for any of your makeup or hair or modeling needs please be sure and get in touch with these ladies!!!!
